It happens almost daily doesn’t it?  The e mails from Sky, or Virgin, or whoever your provider is. Those big bold updates in your inbox to tell you about what’s coming up, what you should watch and what to download. ‘Some great entertainment for you, all at your fingertips…..’

Now, we’re not suggesting that you shouldn’t indulge in a bit of binge watching over  Christmas and New Year. Who doesn’t do that? Neither are we saying that you should spend your break immersed in thoughts of work.

However…..if you really have been thinking about starting up on your own, then this is a seriously good time to do some reflecting and planning. And if you’re serious about it we’ve got some great ideas for you to download and look at – and – yes- they’re all at your fingertips!

We understand of course that as a recruitment professional, with the year coming to an end, you probably find it hard to relax. There’s the worry of making sure that every little detail of every application and placement on your desk has been properly processed, and that you’ve left everything in good order for the January return to work. There’s the thinking through of next year’s plans and the targets you’ve been set for the next twelve months.

It’s time to take a break from the work. We get that.

But, suppose, just suppose, that you could set up on your own. Run your own recruitment business. It would be the chance to do things your way. Put your experience to work for your own benefit.  Be in control of your own destiny. That would be some kind of different new year wouldn’t it?

Which means spending a bit of time over the break to start formulating those ideas of running your own business is actually quite a good thing.
