It’s A Thriving Time For Start-Ups And That Includes Recruitment
That has to be good news, if you’re thinking of starting your own recruitment business.
I get that. But explain please……
The fact is, and we know there have been predictions and arguments about it, but the economy is growing. With it, the attitude towards starting up a business of your own has shifted, in a very positive way.
Got any figures?
Yes. A report by StartUp Britain shows over 340,000 new companies were started, in the UK, in the first half of 2016.
But they’re not all recruitment businesses are they?
Of course not. But they are businesses that generate lots of jobs. And you know what lots of jobs means. It means lots of roles to be filled- with the help of recruitment professionals!
Sounds encouraging, but will it last?
Who dares make long term predictions any more? But, what we do know is that the UK start up survival rate is higher than it’s ever been.
Ok. But all of these people in all these new jobs – they’re not looking once they’re settled are they?
Really? Come on – you’re a recruitment professional. You know that people in work are as active in seeking new jobs as those out of work.
Alright. Yes I do know that. Point taken.
Good. Now consider the positives of this overall picture. A booming job market. Employers seeking transferable skills. A more flexible attitude to work than ever before, meaning people move around. And evidence to support that this is a good time for start ups. Put it all together and it’s a good time for recruitment start ups.
I’m pretty much convinced. But who is going to back me? It’s my future I’m planning.
