Dream Team

Starting your own recruitment business means you can choose who you work with!

You’re an experienced recruitment consultant. How many people have you placed in roles? How many people have you, effectively, hired? But are you surrounded by the people you would have chosen to work with?

There’s no need to be nasty here. It’s highly likely that you’re working with some very professional, very good, and indeed very nice, people. It’s just that if you had a blank canvass to put together your dream team would they make the cut?

Who would be your recruitment dream team?

Starting your own recruitment business means you get to do just that; assemble your own team. Skipping over the irony that you would be recruiting people, the exciting thing is that you get to make the decision. You choose.

Of course finding people, identifying them as likely candidates and then interviewing them takes time. (Like you don’t know any of this!). Making the right choice is important, so you’ll need time to deliberate. Now that can be a problem when you’re starting up your own business. You’ll have the finance to arrange, the premises to sort, the brand name to register – it’s a lot of plates to spin. And all the time you want to be getting on with building your business and doing the things you really want to do. Like building your dream team.

So really what you want is all the freedom to focus on what you want to do, whilst somehow you still have the security and back up you had as an employee.

Say goodbye to the idea of starting up then?

No. Say hello to The Recruit Venture Group.

Helping recruitment professional start their own businesses is what we do. It’s what we specialise in. We’ve developed a business solution, a package of financial support, back up and guidance that allows new startups to get started all over the country.

Because you’ll be so well supported you’ll be able to pay yourself a salary from the start. Add to that the fact that we look after all your invoicing, cash flow and legal issues and you can see that you will have the time, and peace of mind, to get out there and build your business.

You’ll also have the time to concentrate on choosing your top team. You can handpick the people you want around you. It’s a great way to start a business. Like minded and similarly motivated people around you from the outset make for successful business.

Be honest. The chance to recruit your own team is a big part of your bigger dream!

Starting your own recruitment company? Means making a change.

Branding

Starting your own recruitment business is one thing. Establishing your brand is something else

Launching your own recruitment business is a big step. The decision to ‘go it alone’ is not one to take lightly. And, once you’ve taken it, you’ll suddenly grasp the number of challenges in front of you.

Finance is always a major consideration. Getting an appropriate level of funding is essential because you have to be able to withstand the pressure of the early days when there’s typically more cash flowing out of the business than coming in.

You need the legal matters to be sorted too. Registering the company, organising insurance cover and taxation – they all have to be done.

Premises have to be found and furnished. And of course there’s the absolutely essential systems and software to be put in place. Without those your business won’t so much launch, as more than likely nose dive.

If that all sounds worryingly demanding and you’re thinking of shelving the idea of  starting up on your own, the good news is that The Recruit Venture Group can address all of those problems for you. Dedicated to helping recruitment professionals set up their own businesses we have funds available to give 100% support. We’ll help you with premises, and give you full access to our back office and systems.

If you’ve got five years’ experience in recruitment, have knowledge of a specific sector and you’re ready to launch your own company we can get you there pretty quickly.

And then what? You wait for clients and candidates to call you? It doesn’t work that way.

You need a brand. And brand awareness.

Doubtless you’ll have had ideas of your own. You’ve probably scribbled down ‘designs’ for your logo.

Wait!

You’re a recruitment consultant. You know more than anybody that it’s important to match the right person to the right job.  So, being a great recruitment consultant does not make you a branding expert, and it certainly doesn’t make you a designer. You need expert help.

And we do that too. On top of the finance, the premises and the systems; over and above the back office, we provide you with expert help to create, design and implement your brand. We’ll guide you through the overall concept and then make sure it’s applied properly to your website, brochure, letterhead, signage and anywhere else you need to be visible. We can help with your marketing strategy too. You’ll know your local area, and the media, and working with you we can create campaigns that help you make your mark.

What’s particularly important is that with our help on your branding and marketing you won’t be distracted from doing what you do best. Recruitment.

The B.O.S.S

It’s going to be your recruitment business -but you’ll love the B.O.S.S!

Strange, you’re thinking. If I start up my own recruitment business I was planning on being the boss. What’s with the ‘love the boss’ thing?

First off, let’s be clear that we are talking about you setting up your business. We are The Recruit Venture Group, and our sole purpose in life is to help recruitment consultants who want to ‘go it alone’ to do just that. We’ve put together a business solution that delivers full support, requiring no personal financial outlay, and involving no risk.

Is it your business? Most definitely it is. With our support you get shares in and dividends from your own company. We’ll help you set up, and legally incorporate, that company. We’ll sort out your premises, help develop your branding, build your website and even organise printing your brochures. But it’s definitely your company.

We won’t interfere with how you run your company, but we will be there for you. Sometimes you need a mentor, and one with lots of relevant experience too. That’s us. We know recruitment, and we’re happy to share our knowledge with you.

As to ‘you’, we do need to know a few things before we commit to such a high level of support. Things like you having five years continuous experience in recruitment. That you’ve run your own desk or team, and that you have specialist knowledge of a specific sector.

If all of that fits, and you have the drive and determination to build your own business, it’s highly likely that we can do business. We put in the support and you run your own recruitment business.

And the BOSS? Don’t worry, we won’t put a manager in over your head. What we will put in, over and above all of the above, is BOSS – OUR

Back

Office

Support

System.

You’ll have access to our full back office systems. Road tested, industry standard and fully backed up these systems will track all of your candidates and clients, monitor your cash flow and manage your invoices. It’s a level of systems and software that most startups can only dream of.

With all of that behind you, and your being able to pay yourself a salary, which is a hugely stabilising thing, especially in the early days when you want to maintain your lifestyle as well as build the business, you’re in a perfect position to really focus.

Your business. A stake in your own future, by doing what you’ve always wanted to do. Why wait?

Future Planning

Your own recruitment company is the start of your future. But what are you going to do about the future?

There are books, conferences and seminars popping up almost every day aimed at educating us about the future of work. Changing demographics, greater longevity for us humans, the relentless development of technology and the shift in urbanisation – they’re all trends that give us at least some hint of what life, and work, might be like for us in the future.

What’s more they’re all relevant to the world of recruitment. These are the issues of how we will work, what sort of jobs we will have, how we will communicate and what our expectations will be.

Anybody can see that starting a recruitment business now will require the constant acquisition of knowledge and research findings in order to ‘future proof’ the business. In short, if your business is going survive and prosper you’ll need to be prepared for what’s coming.

And that’s quite a challenge for the start up. Because there’s so much else to do. Things like the admin, and the invoicing. There’s finding and servicing new business of course. And staff to manage and motivate. With all that going on it’s a bit difficult to devote too much time to developing a future proofing strategy based on latest research, data and legislation.

That said if you really want to think about the future from very start then perhaps talking to us would be the best way to get the ball rolling.

The Recruit Venture Group business solution is all about helping recruitment professionals start up their own businesses.  We’ll be there with 100% funding for your launch, and we’ll help with everything from finding your premises to building your website.

With our backing you’ll be able to pay yourself a salary, so you’ll be in a good place to focus on the work to be done.

When you are up and running you’ll have access to our back office and systems which means you’ll be operational and competitive, as well as protected and backed up – in every sense.

But it goes further than that. Whilst you’re getting on with running and developing your business we’ll still be there for you. Not interfering. It’s your business, and you run it. But we’ll be monitoring industry trends, watching the research data, studying the changes in demographics and work patterns; in short we’ll be immersing ourselves in all information you’ll need for the longer term planning. And that’s something a lot of your competitors won’t have time to do.

If you’ve already racked up five years’ experience in recruitment, and are now  looking to the future, Apply now

With us behind you, you can afford to think about your future, and the future.

Believe it!

You can start your own recruitment business. Believe it!

Can you believe it?  One of the biggest things holding people back from starting up a new business is the fear that – they won’t be believed in!

The reasons for this lack of confidence cover a worryingly wide spectrum. Hopefully unjustified, but nevertheless true, people worry that backers and customers will have a view on their gender, race or skin colour.  Or age. Or height!

At a more pragmatic level there are concerns that a business plan or proposal simply won’t be believed in. Was the plan itself not good enough? Was the way it was ‘pitched’ not good enough?

Then comes the one that brings it into perspective for the recruitment industry.

Will that bank, or financial institution, actually believe in the business idea? Or, because they don’t know enough about recruitment, will they refuse to commit to it? Or not believe in it?

If you’re thinking of starting your own recruitment business it’s important to turn this argument on its head. The key question then becomes, ‘do you believe you can do it?’

And if you do, and you approach us with your business plan, will we believe in it?

Try us.

If you’ve got five years’ experience in recruitment and you’ve perhaps developed knowledge of a specific sector it’s worth talking to The Recruit Venture Group.

If your credentials and experience add up, and you believe in your idea the chances are that we’ll believe in you.

If we do, we’ll give you 100% funding, a line of credit, access to our back office and systems and ongoing support. You’ll have shares in your own business. We’ll help with branding and premises and marketing.

Able to pay yourself a salary you’ll be well positioned to concentrate on growing your business.

You can do this. Believe it and Apply Now.

Temp Roles

Temporary roles should be a permanent fixture for a startup recruitment business

Perm or Temp?

The question that so often dominates the planning of a recruitment company’s strategy. It’s a particularly important question when the planning is for a startup business.

To deal with the negatives first; specialising in temporary roles can be seen as a demand on cash flow. If you’re explaining your strategy to, say, a bank manager he or she might flag up the question of your business settling temporary workers’ pay before your client pays you. That would be a negative in the eyes of someone who knows finance but doesn’t know recruitment.

If you do know recruitment you’ll see it differently of course. You could explain to the aforementioned bank manager that your startup is worth backing because you’ve thought it through and, despite their observation, temporary roles make eminent financial sense.

A steady flow of work and income

You could go on to say that, with a client base in need of temporary staff, and a database of candidates looking for non-permanent work you will have an increased chance of generating a steady flow of work and income. Ironically one that’s much smoother than the highs and lows of one off commission payments that come from placing permanent staff.

In fact, you could further embellish your pitch by pointing out the facts of permanent placements.  The couple of months or so it takes to get the brief, the weeks it takes to find and place the candidate, and the 30 days minimum after that – worse if you have to go through a 3 month trial – before you get paid.

A balance of permanent and temporary roles

It may well be that a balance of permanent and temporary roles is the best long term strategy, but wherever your business plan takes you it’s dangerous to ignore the potential in temp roles, especially at the outset.

As to that pitch, you’ll find that if you put your business case to us you’d be preaching to the converted. We really do understand recruitment.

At The Recruit Venture Group, recruitment is what we do.

We specialise in providing the funding for recruitment professionals to start their own businesses. You get 100% financing to launch, and access to our back office and support systems. We’re there for you – but it’s your business. You’ll be able to draw a salary from the start – which gives you the peace of mind to get on with the job.

And, as we said, if you’re looking at building a portfolio with a strong thread of temporary roles in it, we’re behind you. We can see the sense of it.

Freedom/Freebie

A couple of things to consider when youre starting your own recruitment business.

Freedom – yes. Freebie – No!

There is no doubt that high on the list of motivations for starting your own recruitment business is ‘freedom’. Breaking out of being an employee, taking control of your own destiny – these are the things that come up time and again in research polls.

Ask a recruitment consultant why theyd start up on their own and youll find freedom in the answers as regularly as youll find making money.

It’s totally understandable. It’s the opportunity to take your career

to the next level,  put your own ideas into practice and have a real stake in your own future.

With all that freedom though there does come the fact that, to put it bluntly, the buck stops with you. It’s your business.

All of which is fine, except you do have to consider the danger points. High on that list is the process. The system. You have to get it right. From first registration of a candidate, to interview and placement, and on to contracts it has to be faultless. It’s about ensuring the process is correct and, just as importantly, being certain that candidates and clients all understand the details of who is signing for what.

Obviously this matters because if “the system” goes wrong it damages your reputation. But in the short term it’s damaging financially. The simple fact is, if the system isn’t fully and correctly adhered to, in many cases your client is going to take the placement – but as a ‘freebie’ by way of compensation. Ouch!

That’s going to hurt any consultancy, but it will sting a startup much more.

The early days, when cash flow is tight and the reputation is new, are not good times for giving out free placements.

It’s why we’ve always seen the system, the process and the back up as being equally important as the initial funding. When we developed The Recruit Venture Group we were determined to put together the ultimate solution for recruitment startups.

Which means that over and above 100% financial backing to launch, a line of credit, help with branding, premises and marketing we support you with tried and tested, industry specific, systems and processes. They work.

The knock on effect is that you can work at building your business, confident that the back office is behind you, delivering seamless administration while you’re out there winning clients.

The fact that you’ll be able to pay yourself a salary from day one helps quite a bit too!

If you have five years relevant, unbroken, experience and a demonstrable track record. Apply Now

We’ve got the funds available to give you the freedom you want. We’ve got the processes and systems available to avoid you giving out the freebies you don’t want.

A Good Month’s Billing

In your own recruitment business you’ll find that a good month’s billing really is a good month’s billing.

Assuming that you’ve notched up the five year plus track record, probably run your own desk for at least three years, and maybe you’re the office specialist in one particular market sector, you are more than likely to be very good at what you do.

But in a way isn’t that the problem?

The Dream Ticket

The target is there; that dream ticket billing for the month, and you hit it. As you often have before. It was a really good month’s billing. But was it a really good month for you? Was there a reward for doing the number? If there was, was it enough? Did it reflect the effort you put in and the amount you billed?

You really wouldn’t be the first recruitment consultant for whom this was the tipping point when it came to starting their own business. It’s not a question of being lacking in loyalty, or being ungrateful. It’s just that feeling of ‘I could do this my way. I could do this for me’.

I could do this my way. I could do this for me

Some, it has to be said, falter at this point. The ‘hitting the target bonus’ maybe wasn’t great, but it was something, and it did come on top of that regular salary. So, maybe

The safest plan is to stay put.

But is that you? Really? You’re savvy enough to know that your bosses have overheads and costs, but it drives you crazy when you think about being top performer for less than top rewards. You’d have costs and overheads too if you were running your own business, but a ‘good month’s billing’ would be your ‘good month’s billing’ and you could decide what you do with it.

We understand people like you. People with the drive and ambition to start up on their own. That’s why we’ve developed a business solution aimed specifically at helping recruiters

A business solution aimed specifically at helping recruiters

At The Recruit Venture Group we provide 100% funding, as well as shares in your own business. We’re there for you, but it’s yours. You get full access to our systems and back office which not only means you have safe and reliable technology behind you, you also have the freedom to do what you do best. Recruitment.

Peace of mind and freedom to concentrate on your business

Because you’ll be properly financed you can pay yourself a salary from the start, and that gives you even more peace of mind and freedom to concentrate on your business.

Yes, a big part of the motivation is in the money. The billing. You make it work and you’ll see the rewards. You won’t be putting in the hours to build up the billing for your boss. Oddly though, it’s not entirely about that.

Be in control of your own destiny

It’s also about being in control of your own destiny. Making the decisions.

Properly backed by us you’ll have the support you’re used to, as well as the challenge – and rewards – you’re looking for.

No Personal Outlay

Id like to start my own recruitment business, with no personal financial outlay.

Try that statement on your bank manager

It’s not going to work is it? Assuming that he or she doesn’t believe you’ve taken leave of your senses, or that you’re having a laugh, they’re going to say ‘I don’t think I can help you’.

Think about it. Even if they decided they would help you that help would doubtless come in the in the form of a loan. Which needs security. And then repaying. Which would be some personal financial outlay every month. No, the ‘start a business with no personal financial outlay’ pitch is not going to make for a very long meeting in the bank.

Or most other places really. Finance houses, even friends and family, will want some outlay on your behalf if they support you.

You could try it on us though. We’re used to it. In fact it’s often us who get to the subject first. We’re proud of the fact that our support package for recruitment professionals who want to start their own businesses is based on the premise that they make no personal financial outlay. Nor indeed take any personal financial risk.

Here’s how it works. The Recruit Venture Group has been formed with the sole aim of funding and supporting recruitment startups.

We provide 100% financial support to launch you. We work with you to arrange the formal incorporation of your business. We help you with premises, and branding. We support you in marketing that brand, from your website to your business cards.

Once you’re ready we link you to our back office system, so you’re up and running and efficient from the day you open the doors.  We’ll crunch your numbers, handle your admin and make sure your invoices are paid.

We want you to concentrate on building your business, so we’ve structured things to allow you to pay yourself a salary from day one. Peace of mind is a great help in getting a piece of the action.

It’s a fully funded package for recruitment startups needing no personal financial outlay on their part.

This is, as we hope you’ll agree, quite a lot of support. Which is why we’re keen to know that we’re backing the right people. The sort of people we work with have the drive and determination to succeed. They typically have five years unbroken experience in recruitment and usually have expert knowledge of a specific sector.

If that’s you, and you’re serious about starting up, Apply Now

Just tick the boxes we mentioned. Don’t bother with the “I’d like to start my own recruitment business, with no personal financial outlay’ pitch. We’ve heard it all before. In fact – we invented it.
